HIWWT: Seagrass and Chalk Stream Restoration
Multi-year support and hands-on volunteering with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust at Calshot and Farlington. Seagrass seed collection, shoreline surveys using Shoresearch methodology, and active participation in Solent Seascape restoration. In the most recent project year: 5,000+ seeds collected, 4,000 planted across the Solent. In April 2026, Eco Drift volunteers participated in planting a further 106,000 seeds across the Solent, the largest single planting effort the project had seen.

When choosing organisations to support, we wanted the work to lead to real, tangible improvements to the local environment. The seagrass restoration work has been exactly that. Taking part in the seed collection at Seaview and surveying at Chilling Beach has been eye-opening; contributing to long-term data on carbon, habitats, and biodiversity is genuinely meaningful."

Oyster Reef Restoration
Eco Drift teams took part in two volunteer sessions supporting oyster reef restoration in the Hamble and Portsmouth marina environments, in activities with Blue Marine Foundation and Final Straw Foundation as partners. Approximately 20,000 oysters were scrubbed across both sessions, preparing them for reintroduction. A single oyster filters up to 150 litres of water per day.
Final Straw Foundation: Beach Schools
- 2024/25: 81 primary-aged children funded to attend wild beach school sessions
- 2026: a further 100 children funded for wild beach school sessions
These sessions connect young people with coastal ecosystems and plastic pollution.
Hubbub Community Fridge Network
- 2025: approximately 16,000 meals enabled through community fridges connected to Portsmouth
- 2026: approximately 21,665 meals in food equivalent
- Combined across both years: approximately 37,665 meals enabled

The Hygiene Bank
Eco-certified cleaning and hygiene products donated to The Hygiene Bank, supporting hygiene poverty with safe, non-toxic products. Donation points at Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth and The Blade, Reading.
CupCycle at Lakeside North Harbour
Now in its third year. The only paper coffee cup recycling scheme operating at scale in a Portsmouth office park environment.
